Create a new Outlook email message by using a keyboard shortcut



PROBLEM
 





SOLUTION
  1. Create a new shortcut on your desktop 
    1. Right-click an open area on the desktop, point to New, and then click Shortcut.
  2. Set the target of the shortcut to:
    1. "Path_to_your_OUTLOOK.exe" /c "IPM.Note" 
    1.  For example, on his system:
    2. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE" /c "IPM.Note"
  3. Pin the shortcut to the taskbar (yes, taskbar)
  4. Drag the taskbar shortcut in front of all other shortcuts 
  5. Pressing the Windows key and 1 at the same time, Win + 1, will open a new Outlook email



Note: He was using Windows 7 and MS Office Professional Plus 2010.
